Aftercare Enrichment Program
New to 2023, we are offering an after-care enrichment program to all students enrolled in our school.
Our after-care program is not only designed to assist families who need additional supervision for their child(ren) beyond the traditional school day hours, but for any families who want their child(ren) to participate in additional post-school enrichment activities.
In our efforts to connect students with local community members who offer expertise in a particular enrichment area (e.g., Yoga, languages, pottery, gardening, etc.), we aim for our after care enrichment activities to be led by guest instructors, and assisted by Bay Grove Staff. Guest instructors will be contracted to provide services for, at minimum, one day a week and will rotate quarterly. For example, from August to October, the same guest instructor would be scheduled to lead activities on Mondays.
To ensure that we uphold the same safety standards and school expectations before and after school hours, all guest members will be subjected to background checks and we will continue to use our school day procedures for attendance, security, and staff-to-student ratios.

What are the after-care hours?
Aftercare begins a at 2:30pm and concludes at 5:00pm. Families who pick up students beyond 5:00pm will incur a late fee of $15 plus an additional $1/minute late fee for a pick-up that occurs beyond 5:05pm. This is necessary to allow the school to recover costs when staff must be paid to stay beyond their contracted time.
Can families select which days to use the after-care program?
Yes! Families can select between 1 to 5 days per week, but must adhere to that same schedule for the entire month. The pricing (see below) is reflective of the number of days you select.
When and how do we sign up?
Families can book your child(ren) in after care enrichment program through the family portal webpage. Sign ups must be completed between the 1st and the 20th of the month PRIOR to attendance. Since after care is a month-to-month commitment, you must complete a new booking, one per child, each month. Additionally, you must complete and return the after-care release form (found at the bottom of this page, and on the family portal) before your child(ren) can be enrolled in the program.
When and how is payment due?
Once you sign up, payment will be automatically collected on the 20th of the month prior to attendance, through your Brightwheel account.
Does the aftercare schedule follow the school calendar?
Yes. Our after school program will follow the school calendar; aftercare will not be available on school holidays, early release days, or teacher professional development days.
For months with holidays or vacation weeks, will the monthly cost be pro-rated?
To minimize costs for the after care program, it is crucial to maintain consistency in our procedures and automate paperwork as much as possible. The additional support needed to manually calculate and adjust the pricing for each student would increase the overall cost of the program. Therefore, aside from months with more than one week of vacation (November, December and March) our rates must remain the same regardless of the month.
Why is the cost for elementary and early-childhood-aged children different?
State mandated staff-to-student ratio requirements for children under 5 is different than elementary age students and may require the support of additional staff members. Additionally, younger children often require more materials, preparation, and assistance than older children.

Non-refundable Fees

One time, annual, registration fee
Students will pay an annual, one-time non-refundable registration fee to help offset costs for enrichment materials.
Late Pick Up Fees
After Care concludes at 5:30pm. Students are expected to be picked up by 5:00pm. Late pick fees will be applied per instance. Families with multiples will be charged the same fee as families with one child.
